Morrone Palace

- Morrone Palace XV century - Via Mory, 1 - 7

Morrone Palace

The origins of this building can be traced back to the end of the 15th century when it was found that such Antonio Morrone had the benefit of the nearby chapel of S. Andrea and that the XXII island of the inhabited area of the city of 1597 took the name from the Morrone family.

Morrone Palace

This family is therefore one of the oldest families in Galatina and this property has always been of this family, passing over the years from Stefano to Francesco to Aurelia Morrone who died in this palace in 1820 and she was perhaps the last member of this family.

Morrone Palace

The building that extends into via Mory and makes a corner with via O.Congedo and extends until the chapel of S. Andrea, has maintained the appearance of the sixteenth century respected in large part by the current property that has recently submitted to a important restructuring.
