The appointment with the Christmas in all senses returns. The close collaboration between the Municipal Administration and the Merchant Associations, the Onlus Associations active in the promotion and enhancement of the tourist and cultural heritage and the Primary Schools allows us to present the calendar of the third edition, rich, magical and for all tastes as in previous occasions .
The initial, magical and significant moment will be the lighting of the Tree in Saint Peter's Square on Sunday 8 December at 17.30.
For our children, every day of the festival until the day of Epiphany, Piazza Alighieri will host a funfair with a wide variety of games and entertainment. For the more adults, at the same time, a Christmas Market will give the opportunity to walk around the illuminated city and make purchases.
Every weekend, the historic center will be the setting for the shows of the Santa Claus Village which, in person, will wait for the children in an ancient palace to guide them, together with its elven helpers, to its wonderful world.
Furthermore, on 8th, 14th, 15th and 22nd December, we will be able to admire the performances of street artists, located in the commercial streets between the Historic Center, Via Principe di Piemonte, Corso Porta Luce and Via Diaz.
I -Concerts of the Cloister-, on 28 and 29 December, will bring the quality of their proposal into the hamlets and into the city.
The small review of -Note Battenti-, instead, on December 23rd, 26th and 30th, will once again allow to merge the beauty of our Church of the Holy Trinity with a refined, elegant and perfectly in tune with the atmosphere musical offer.
The Christmas Concert in the Mother Church will then be an opportunity to appreciate the talent of GIORE's young people.
On 28 and 29 December, the first edition of ArteLuce Galatina will be inaugurated, an event that will have in the light and its suggestions the essential theme, during which Christmas-themed videomapping will be projected on the façade of the Basilica of Santa Caterina and can be admire, in the streets and alleys of the Ancient Center, the most varied and evocative light installations and projections. In the same period, a workshop will be held for primary school children, aimed at promoting socialization among the participants through the learning and study of the main drawing techniques and the first rudiments of computer science dedicated to animation.
The musical proposals in the rooms of the historic center will allow you to spend the evenings after dinner in joy and, finally, we will celebrate together, on New Year's Eve, in Piazza San Pietro, with the overwhelming music of BAR ITALIA.
We wait for you in the streets of the city where lights and projections will unite us in the unmistakable atmosphere of a Christmas ... in all senses.
