In particular we will walk, starting from the coast, following the old course of the Morelli river, which starts from the territory of Ostuni, until it touches the Dolmen Montalbano, located in the same town of the municipality of Fasano.
during the trek we will be able to see the typical flora and fauna of the wet and coastal areas, and also entering the hinterland, the majestic olive trees, the rock caves located along the old river bed.
Dolmen Montalbano is located in Pisco Marano and like so many dolmens also located in the southern Salento area, dates back to around 3000 years ago. the possible functions for hypothesis of these monuments were varied, from altars, to funeral monuments or astronomical points, magic rites etc.
the word dolmen consists of two words, Dol, (Piatta, Tavola) and men (stone).
